  • CFIA master carton labelling requirements of imported fish products

    The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a notice to importers of fish products to clarify the master carton labelling requirements. The CFIA requires that, prior to export, shipping containers are properly labelled to identify both the establishment and the date of packing as required under the Fish Inspection Regulations.

    Importers are not authorized to add this information once goods arrive in Canada.

  • Commerce offers free webinar on textile/apparel export opportunities in Mexico

    The U.S. Department of Commerce, Office of Textiles and Apparel (DOC/OTEXA) has posted a notice announcing a free webinar on export opportunities in Mexico for U.S. textile and apparel producers. The webinar, co-hosted by DOC and ExpoProducción Mexico will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 2:00 pm EST.

  • USTR announces results of GSP review; Bangladesh benefits suspended

    Newly sworn-in U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Michael Froman has announced the outcome of its 2012 Annual Review under the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) program. GSP is a trade preference program under which the U.S. provides duty-free treatment to many imports from developing countries.

    The results of the 2012 GSP Annual Review are available for review and will also be announced in the Federal Register.
